Can’t wait to get your hands on the Apple iPad? Well, neither Apple nor prominent resellers such as Amazon or MacMall.com have announced specific dates for the preorder. However, Amazon does have product information listed for the iPad: Apple iPad Tablet (16GB, Wifi + 3G) One Amazon customer speculated

Normally after Apples product announcements Amazon adds the new product pages so people can pre order right away. I have done this twice now, once after new Mac Mini announcement and once after the last iTouch update.

Now a day after the iPad has been announced I still don’t see a preorder page.

Is Amazon doing this to protect Kindle sales?

While this seems to be a completely reasonable assumption, TheNextWeb announced that Amazon’s German site, Amazon.de, is taking Apple iPad preorders! Whether this is just a snafu or a legitimate preorder list, we have yet to see.
